PERIC Hydrogen Technologies Co., Ltd. and ABB have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly accelerate the widespread application of hydrogen as an energy source
Both parties will explore how ABB's automation, electrification, and digitization solutions can be integrated with Perry Hydrogen Energy (PERIC) electrolysis cells to reduce hydrogen production costs
PERIC is affiliated with China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. It is a national level scientific research unit that integrates scientific research and development, design and production, and technical services. It has a history of more than 60 years in providing water electrolysis hydrogen production products and technologies. PERIC hopes to further enhance the capability of its high-efficiency electrolysis cell, which utilizes electricity to decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen for hydrogen production.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the world's demand for hydrogen has more than tripled since 1975 and continues to grow. Clean hydrogen is currently receiving widespread attention, and hydrogen related policies and projects are rapidly expanding around the world. Expanding the technological scale and reducing production costs are crucial for the widespread application of hydrogen.
The cooperation between PERIC and ABB will include developing joint solutions and/or integrating complementary technologies to optimize efficient and green hydrogen production. Both parties will finalize a detailed action plan and specific agreement within three months after signing the memorandum of understanding.
The efficiency of hydrogen production is crucial. ABB's energy management technology, combined with its automation, electrification, and digital solutions, will help us find the best way to improve our operational efficiency, thereby helping to reduce hydrogen production costs. ”
